About Us Formed in 1979, TABB is the oldest business-brokerage trade association in the country. Its Members are business brokers, and its Affiliate Members are individuals and companies that provide services to sellers, buyers or brokers -- such as bankers, accountants, attorneys, financial planners, tax advisors, exit planners, insurance agents and other professionals supporting business transfers. TABB is owned and operated by its membership, and governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. The Association has chapters in Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio, under the banner of the statewide organization (with administrative headquarters in Irving) with its own slate of elected officers. It has also created a broker-education program, and awards the “Board Certified Broker” professional designation to individuals who successfully complete its requirements. TABB conducts periodic conventions and educational conferences.
