About Texas Certified Public Manager® Program
The CPM program is a nationally accredited comprehensive statewide management development program specifically for managers in federal, state, and local government and managers in the not-for-profit sector. The program’s primary goal is to improve the performance of public and not-for-profit sector administrators and the organizational performance of state, local and federal government. It is a comprehensive 7- course sequence of study by which leaders can acquire and apply the best practices and theory to their management behaviors and strategies using prescribed sets of professional standards. The curriculum uses theory as the foundation and applies it to practical problems facing participants, their agency/department, and communities. Those who complete the program earn a national trademark designation of CPM (Certified Public Manager®) accredited by the National Certified Public Manager (CPM) consoritum. The Texas CPM Program is administered by Texas State University’s William P. Hobby Center for Public Service. In addition, the statewide CPM Program is offered through partnerships at four other Texas universities: Texas Tech, The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, The University of Houston, and Stephen F. Austin State University serving students within their geographic areas.
