About Texas Flight

This is the University of Texas Longhorns student project team that builds unmanned, radio-controlled aircraft for the annual American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Design Build Fly Competition. Our members learn how to use many technical software such as Solidworks, XFLR5, MotoCalc, and MATLAB, as well as, how they can be applied to designing and constructing aircraft. Furthermore, the team also learn manufacturing methods for different materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar. Lastly, through Design Build Fly, the students learn how to work in a collaborative team environment and are provided with leadership opportunities through the sub-team lead positions.
