About TFAD

TFAD Pty Ltd is an architecture practice that was established in 2006 when Tom Ferguson [Director, 34 years old] left Cracknell Lonergan Architects. The initial project that spring boarded the practice was Rozelle House 1 [Shortlisted for the 2006 Australian Interior Design Awards] and since then has delivered more than a dozen significant projects from concept to completion. All of the projects have been residential ranging from apartments to houses, and every project involves both architectural and interior design services. By virtue of the fact that many projects to date have been inner-city houses on small sites, often the projects have a very strong interior design component as this is the most significant, visible and important part of the dwelling. The practice currently consists of the director and one interior designer, and we feel that this scale is appropriate to the bespoke nature of work being undertaken. The practice aims to create personalised spaces for each individual client and understands that each new client has needs and desires different to the last, though core principles of rational planning and a broader geometrical interlocking of spaces combined with honest, natural and warm materials runs through each project. Environmental sustainability has always been a strong consideration and this is only increasing, with all materials now being selected based on environmental characteristics in mind.
