Thalia's Crook Ltd, registered in 2018, was born to bid for the Charles Cryer Theatre in Sutton. The offer not having success at that time, the founders chose to make the Company dormant while waiting for more favourable circumstances. One of the dreams during this slumber was to create a Youth #Orchestra to cater for the post-Brexit situation of divorce of the UK from the EU Youth #Orchestra Program - and that is what we are up to making true now. The rebooted version of the company asserts itself as a new talent representation agency and production company preparing for the re-opening of the performing arts industry after the pandemic. We will be ready to cater for the new reality of the artistic demand. Even if our main objective is to act as talent representation agency for #Opera and classical music, our endeavour will start with the creation of a Youth #Orchestra and a related musician's database. In time, we will also invest in recording facilities. Considering that before Covid-19, the access to orchestras was already very selective, recently graduated musicians will face even harder times auditioning than their older colleagues, we have chosen to seize the opportunity of the Government's #KickstartScheme to offer training and working opportunities for young musicians 16-24 years, which will, hopefully be conducive to continuous collaboration with us. For the moment, the activities taking place in our premises will limit to help the youngsters to - learn the procedures and routines finalized to perfect their ability to perform professionally. - get the experience in #recordingstudios to work in classical music industry and in #Soundtrack productions - acquire a relevant orchestra repertory In a hopefully not too distant future, after the pandemic, we intend to start performing and touring with this repertory. Should the development of circumstances point to that direction, we will also be ready with #Opera productions to offer on short notice.
