About The 9 Mile Project

Our mission is to open the door to higher education for primary and secondary students within rural Rwanda who do not have access to proper schools, running water, or efficient transportation. Many students walk 9 miles daily just to attend their local school. For that reason, Rwanda’s public boarding schools are the best solution for the rural youth to further their education. However, the room & board fees of $120 per semester are not affordable for many students. The 9 Mile Project is changing that. We are providing select students with the finances necessary to waive these fees. Not only will they receive a formal education, but our students will also secure access to running water, three meals a day, computers, and a lifetime of memories.
