The Academy of Relationship Management is a training organisation, founded to upskill agencies in new client relationship management skills, vital for today. The problem for agencies is that effective relationship management has never been taught. Relationship skills, such as they are, have been learnt the hard way - on the job or modelled sporadically by senior managers. And this kind of socialised learning has become even more hit-and-miss with the advent of hybrid working. Meanwhile, clients have become increasingly transactionally focussed, leading agencies to focus on short term delivery rather than relationship health. This erodes the underlying strength of the agency’s relationships which is so critical for longer-lasting, mutually rewarding partnerships. Led by ex-industry experts Paul Cowan and Claire Robertson, the Academy’s programmes are based on insights and approaches from relationship psychology, years of experience consulting on client relationships, and data from studying client relationships globally. Programmes cater for different levels of experience (from foundational to mastery), and are available on-line globally.
