About The Actors Space

The Actors Space is a holistic, professional actor training program. We celebrate the idea that acting is communal. Our feeling is that acting isn't just an individual art form, but rather a collective. We believe in the communal spirit, in creating community through the work, fostering and nurturing each actor to achieve greater authenticity and power in performance. We believe in change through art, both on an individual and educational level, as well as from a place of reaching an audience with our hearts and our minds and a point of view. We believe in inclusiveness. A place where one can feel safe to call themselves an artist. And, most importantly, to believe in themselves. PLAY • GROW • THRIVE The Actors Journey: a one year part-time professional actor training program. Our main program, consisting of three 15-week sessions, offers professional actor training designed to accommodate artists living and working in the Bay Area with reasonable and affordable education. Classes are divided into Mondays: The Body, and Tuesdays: The Story, culminating in The Project: Spring 2019. Students can elect to continue on into the Spring and Summer sessions of 2019 upon completion of the Fall 2018 semester. Though we offer a progressive 3-session program, our priority is to tailor the offerings to the needs of each actor. Therefore classes can also be taken as a one-off or repeated. It is our goal to make sure each class is balanced with actors that are in your peer group. Therefore enrollment begins with a submission process so that we can help place you in the session that will best suit your needs. Though every session has a central focus, the experiential and holistic approach for each class is built to engage the artist’s body, voice, mind and spirit. Students who are signed up in either class are free to attend the 2nd-&-4th-Sunday Master Classes as well as the 1st-&-3rd-Sunday Actors Gym.
