About The Aloud Charity
The Aloud Charity changes the lives of young people across South Wales using the power of group singing. Our activities offer unique opportunities for singers aged 9-25, providing them with the self-confidence and skills they need to fulfil their potential. Established in 2012, the charity delivers its activity through two main strands: Only Boys Aloud is an antidote to the prevalent levels of low ambition affecting young Welsh men. Through singing and team activities, OBA increases self-esteem and motivation, building a strong sense of community and brotherhood. OBA meet weekly in some of the most deprived areas of South Wales with no audition and no fee to join. Aloud Voices in a mixed choir group for young girls and boys aged 9 – 25 in South Wales — designed to inspire and develop vocal talent in a fun, supportive environment. There are three choirs within Aloud Voices: Aloud Junior Voices (our youngest group for children in school years 5 and 6) Aloud Intermediate Voices (ideal for singers with some experience, aimed at young people in school years 7 to 9) Aloud Voices (for more experienced singers, from school year 10 to age 25).
