About The Arts Area
Working at the Intersection of Economic Development and the Arts in the Greater Inland Empire of Southern California. The Arts Area, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, provides fiscal sponsorship, professional development, resource support, and civic advocacy to develop and support economic sustainability and equitable access in the creative industries of San Bernardino, Riverside, and East Los Angeles Counties. The role of economic development includes a broad range of activities to attract, create, and retain jobs, and to foster a resilient, growing, and inclusive economy. The Arts Area develops and supports the creative economy through providing professional services in two important areas: 1. Building a Professional Arts Network for All Creatives 2. Providing Fiscal Sponsorship and Professional Business Services for Creative Industry Startups and Nonprofits The Arts Area holds that the foundation for lasting economic development begins with a dedication to education and skills development, strengthening pathways to attending college, supporting careers in the creative industries, and building the needed infrastructure for a growing creative economy. The results of which will promote an economically viable and creative arts community that is an invaluable resource to students, artists, and the community at large. This is a long-term commitment to vitalize artistic and cultural awareness, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship, and reassert a sense of hope, pride, and accomplishment in the future of the community.
