We are growing a special place and community that has the power to enrich, heal, transform and reimagine the lives of our youth and their families. OUR PROBLEM Colorado ranks 43rd out of all US states in combined metrics of suicide rate, mental health issues, death from drug overdoses. . We also share a tragic history of mass shootings by marginalized people. OUR SOLUTION DISRUPTS. The resilience of the aspen tree disrupts the way we normally think about trees. The aspen is the oldest living, largest organism in the world. The basis of our non-profit is borrowed from non-traditional CFSS strategies supporting family culture, strengths, preferences and community. IS UNIQUE. When compared to traditional trees, the unique difference of the aspen supports its strength, size and longevity. Our positively unique approach with youth and their families has resulted in documented life improvement. BEGINS WITH CONNECTION. A strong root system connects an aspen grove as one tree and nourishes a mutual, organic growth. A relationship with family, community, and nature provide youth with a shared way to hope and to thrive with new skills. GROWS STRONG WITH RELATIONSHIPS. Aspens grow in tight colonies, creating a collective resilience that fortifies against adversity for each individual tree. When youth strongly identify with a collaborative, caring tribe, they are better prepared to handle their own challenges. INCLUDES HEALTHY FUN. For Coloradans, the aspen tree is a special icon that represents our love for the outdoors, fitness and active enjoyment. Physical well-being and enjoyable activities are critical pillars in supporting youth and their families.
