About The Assembly Line

The Assembly Line comprises of project managers, advisers and practitioners who bring people together to make a sustainable difference in places (high streets, town centres and markets), spaces and with businesses. We animate town centres, support enterprise, bring buildings back into use, offer strategic advice on markets and engage businesses around high streets, bringing together the best team for each project, providing open and honest feedback to develop meaningful actions. Together, we co-design strategies, commercial concepts and developments that release the social and economic value of public and private assets. We work with local authorities, developers, housing providers, architects and others who want to create resilient and vibrant spaces that benefit everyone. We can support existing projects, create new ones, identify new uses in spaces and empty premises and ensure they stack up commercially and have the right partnership in place to succeed. Our projects often happen in places where there is a masterplan (or one being developed), but something needs doing in the short to medium term while the longer-term plans take shape. They are often funded by Section 106 agreements or UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF). We can advise you on other ways to finance projects if you don’t currently have funding in place. Diane Cunningham founded The Assembly Line in 2012 to bring together expertise from the private sector and local government on place and marketing projects that revitalise and relaunch high streets.
