About The Astronauts Collective (TAC)

Hello! TAC is a non-profit initiative founded in 2014 to help support our youths on their journey of career exploration. We personally experienced how the lack of exposure and access to diverse careers and pathways, fueled by society's perception of what makes a "good job" inadvertently limited what we considered as possible career options. Many of us deferred to dominant notions of success and stuck to conventional pathways. So we thought - what if we could bring together a collective of volunteer professionals from diverse walks of life to help younger versions of us openly explore the world of work? Almost like astronauts exploring the new and unfamiliar worlds. Maybe we can help the youths to discover careers that they are motivated to pursue and can find meaning in. :) HOW YOU CAN HELP We all can play a part to help younger versions of ourselves on their journey of career exploration. As a working professional with rich experiences and stories, join us as a volunteer to help make a difference! TAC has a range of volunteering opportunities of differing involvement levels (be it more one-off or ongoing types) for those of us at varying life and career stages. We also have a team of experienced volunteers (many of us are also school teachers!) to help you kickstart and scaffold your volunteering experience. We run online (Zoom) Open Day sessions every month, short 60-min sessions to share with interested individuals more about what we do. If helping youths make sense of the vast world of work resonates with you, come join us at our next Open Day!
