About The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes
The Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes is the first national research centre internationally, dedicated to investigating the behavioural, psychological and social aspects of people living with diabetes. The Centre’s focus is improving the quality of life of all people with diabetes and their families. The Centre, established in 2010, is a partnership for better health between Diabetes Victoria and Deakin University. The Centre conducts applied research focused on the behavioural, psychological and social aspects of diabetes. The centre’s research activities are designed to influence clinical practice and to inform health policy to improve the health and quality of life of all Australians affected by diabetes. Our projects have a key focus on type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and all age groups (children through to older adults). The Centre produces a range of resources relevant to the behavioural and psychosocial aspects of diabetes. Our resources for health professionals can be used in clinical practice to inform people with diabetes or offer additional support. We also have resources specifically for people affected by diabetes, which you may find useful to promote in your practice. key topics, statistics and research reports; and resources designed for people with or affected by diabetes.
