About The Autism Whisperer

Throughout my long career in education, I have worked with children on the autism spectrum. Firstly, as a Teaching Assistant supporting individual pupils in the classroom. Then, more recently in an advisory role with a London local authority supporting children directly or advising those working with them on ways to help them socially and to access learning. For the past five years, my specialism has focused on very young children in their pre-school and early years (children aged between 3-5 years old). I am passionate about the children and families I work with, and many years ago, I recognised that this is not ‘just a job’ but my ‘vocation’ in life. My approach is child-focused, starting with where the child is at and building on their strengths. I am skilful at engaging little ones to further develop their early communication, social interaction, early learning and play.
