The Purpose of the Barber Ball is to put a spotlight on the men and women who dedicate their lives to styling men, women and children's hair. The mission of the Barber's Ball is to pay special tribute to the rich heritage of the barber's profession and to help raise funds for students who attend or plan to attend one of many Barber Colleges in Illinois. Founder, Marla M. Jackson is a lifetime resident of Chicago, IL. Marla began her education at Moler Barber College in 1993 and has been a Professional Barber for nearly 18 years. In December of 2010 after months of research, planning and input from Barber's and client's, The Barber’s Ball finally became a reality. Co-founder, Chamala T. Travis resides in Illinois. Chamala assists with all aspects of developing promotional materials and planning for the annual Barber Ball and Barber Ball Fundraiser.
