About The Basildon Academies
The Basildon Academies Trust (BAT) is constituted as a Multi Academy Trust, currently comprising of 2 secondary schools: The Basildon Lower Academy, and the Basildon Upper Academy. Both are located in Basildon, Essex. The Lower Academy specialises in the achievement and wellbeing of Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in the achievement and wellbeing of Key Stage 4 and 5 students. Originally established in September 2009 as a Sponsor-Led Academy Trust however, in January 2022 we dissolved our sponsor led status and became a charitable trust. As a charitable trust we are committed to the ethos ‘Aspire – Believe – Achieve’ which is reflected in an uncompromising belief from all stakeholders that our students can and will achieve in our learning communities, which are inclusive and supportive. Our values are centred around SMSC, which is at the heart of our academies. Within the BAT, Academies set their development objectives under the following values: Social Mobility: Equality of opportunity for our young people to aspire and achieve Moral Purpose: Resilient active decision makers Spiritual Awareness: Reflective citizens & curious learners Cultural Capital: Equity of opportunity for our young people to aspire & achieve Our core purpose is to make the biggest difference to the life chances of students in our schools, driving social mobility and supporting cultural capital.
