About The Billy Poole Foundation

The Billy Poole Foundation is a non-profit formed in 2008 to support programs that provide opportunities for kids to learn to ski in honor of the ski legacy of Montana’s Billy Poole. Each year a group of professional skiers travel to Montana to ski with kids who are new to skiing to inspire them for the love of the sport of skiing. This event “Ski with the Pros” happens each year at Discovery Basin Ski Resort. Our major endeavors are: BP Ski with a Pro Weekend – Ski Movie Fundraiser This annual event takes place in the fall with the showing of the latest Warren Miller Entertainment ski film. It takes place at the Historic Washoe Theater in Anaconda, Montana. Before and during the film there is a silent auction with loads of awesome ski gear, ski passes and much more. All proceeds from the movie and silent auction go to running the Ski with a Pro weekend. Ski with a Pro Weekend Each winter a group of pro skiers travel to Montana to ski with a group of kids at Discovery Ski Area. The kids in this ski program are exposed to the beauty of the sport of skiing and inspired to develop a love for the sport and for the mountains and being outdoors.
