About The Book Whisperers Community Interest Company
Books are our passion and promoting their appreciation and creation is our drive. Research has shown that reading promotes good mental and physical health, can make the world a more tolerant and empathic place, and can even help people to live longer and more interesting lives! Our aim is to provide writing opportunities for children and adults to promote reading and writing throughout Scotland and the UK whilst also encouraging families and children to get out and about to explore their local area for inspiration to write their own stories. To do this we plan on running an annual book/story festival in Midlothian focused on families and children, as well as publishing books and providing online writing courses, and an online writing community membership platform. The Book Whisperers platform will allow readers and writers to communicate directly with each other as well as with industry professionals – bringing people together with a shared interest in books.
