THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF MOUNT VERNON offers programs for youth in our community to help them learn and grow in a safe, fun environment. The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon is part of a nationwide Movement of community-based, autonomous organizations and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) working to help the youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. It offers daily access to a broad range of programs in five core program areas (Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation) and several specialized initiatives. All programs are designed to drive positive outcomes for youth and reinforce necessary life skills. Most people know the Club as a recreational program; we are so much more! Our Mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. For more than a century, the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon has helped put young people on the path to great futures. The Club provides a safe affordable place for our members during non-school hours. The Club provides generation-changing programs that support a commitment to learning, positive values, healthy habits, and high expectations for success as an adult. Today, our young people are at risk and in need and are taking advantage of the programs, activities, and services provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon. Our Vision is to provide an excellent Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who comes through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. Over the past eight years, we have graduated 97% of our high school seniors and strive for 100% of Club members to be at grade level.
