The Bright Side Cooperative (TBSC) is a multi-stakeholder small business development and community investment cooperative corporation founded in New York State. The Cooperative was established in 2021 to tackle the chasmic social and economic inequalities resulting from generations of systemic and structural racism and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, the support cooperatives provided for their communities has shown we are uniquely positioned to help economies recover from crisis and usher in an economic model that will catalyze a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive recovery and long-term growth. Our members include women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, other-abled and immigrant entrepreneurs and small business owners in historically disinvested and redlined communities. We position these businesses for success by investing in and partnering with them throughout the lifespan of their enterprise to spur the creation of local thriving-wage jobs and the sustainable development of their communities.
