The Brown Moon Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Washington, DC, is dedicated to research and advocacy that examines the socio-economic impacts of climate change on Black, Brown, and Indigenous women worldwide. The climate crisis affects everyone, but its impacts are not evenly distributed. At the intersection of these vulnerable identities are poor Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, who face unique challenges and injustices as they navigate the adverse effects of climate change.
