About The Bug Chicks
Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker are The Bug Chicks, entomologists and educators who work at the intersection of STEM, Scicomm and empathy. We specialize in connecting science and social-emotional learning in our teaching about arthropods, and use these animals to help people foster empathy for themselves, others and the natural world. Our drive to create fun, accurate science media has led us to work with some amazing organizations: the U.S. Forest Service, Norman Borlaug Institute of International Agriculture, the National Ag Science Center, Microsoft, Nike and many more! We inspire people to be brave and realize that "different isn't bad". We are the creators of the award-winning curriculum DIFFERENT, which blends STEM and SEL to create an evidence-based, positive mindset shift in students. We are currently finalizing the launch of a new web mini-series, A Different View. This series is sponsored by Celestron and explores the fascinating world of arthropod vision and sight.
