About The Builder's Track
The Builder’s Track was born out of a need to provide essential information, practical assistance, and support to thousands of families devastated by the flooding of Lake Manitoba in 2011. In 2012, we gathered cottage owners, homeowners, trades, suppliers, and professionals in one location, for a symposium on rebuilding. Over a thousand homeowners connected with over three hundred key suppliers, trades, and representatives from all levels of government. Keynote speakers and workshops delivered highly focused and relevant information. The intention was to spark hope in devastated families and to give people a track to run on to undertake the rebuilding process. Recognizing that the affected families generally were not knowledgeable in construction, The Builder’s Track developed a simple curriculum designed to provide a basic understanding and confidence to make tough decisions. Gordon L. Gray, CHP, is the President and Founder of The Builder’s Track. Gordon is a Certified Housing Professional, Co-Founder of Discovery Homes, and a long-standing member of the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association. Gordon has enjoyed a lifelong career in home building both as a manager and owner. We use a curriculum-based education process with our clients as they learn the inside track of how Builders set up, manage, and control their projects. We begin with entry-level information that is valuable but broad in its scope. We offer group coaching with collaboration and in-depth discussions and one-on-one coaching and mentoring for specific individuals and projects. Our graduates from the one-on-one coaching have gone on to establish successful home-building and renovation businesses. We are committed to educating the new generation on the right track to success followed by every professional home builder.
