The Capra has been designed through a collaboration of Swiss architects and British interior designers, focusing on fusing the alpine traditional character with modern luxury. The materials used have been primarily sourced locally within the Saas Valley and Switzerland. The story of the naming of The Capra is inspired by the Latin word for mountain goat and after the black and white goats that roam the valleys and peaks around Saas-Fee. Unique to the Valais region, these adventurous creatures reflect the hotel’s authentic sense of place and respect for the natural environment. The two-tone goats also embody the ying-yang – the holistic harmony between man and nature, mind and body, which is the hallmark of The Capra.
