About The Carbon Hub

The Carbon Hub, previously established as the Tropical Carbon Farming Innovation Hub, focuses on climate change mitigation. This encompasses activities that sequester, avoid or destroy greenhouse gas emissions, sometimes referred to as “carbon farming”. This includes activities relating to: - Forests and vegetation, including mangroves - Agriculture and soils - Electricity systems - Energy efficiency - Waste to energy - Infrastructure management - Carbon capture and storage The field of study of ‘climate change mitigation research’ seeks solutions to improve sequestration of greenhouse gasses, using novel methods of sequestration as well improving carbon accounting and reduction of emissions through efficiency improvements and technological advancements. The purpose of the Carbon Hub is to bring key stakeholders together to develop innovative approaches to climate change mitigation initiatives, to facilitate emissions reductions and to advance dialogue on emissions reductions and its methods. The Carbon Hub is funded by a mix of grants, donations and voluntary contributions.
