About the Caring and Sharing Exchange / l'Échange coeur et partage
The Caring and Sharing Exchange (C&SE) began in 1915 and is home to four programs, which include two assistance programs, as well as two community programs: The Christmas Exchange Program - we provide assistance to individuals and families who are in financial need during the holiday season. Those in need are provided with either a redeemable gift voucher or a Christmas hamper so that they are able to enjoy a festive meal with their loved ones, where otherwise would be forced to go without. Sharing in Student Success - we provide children from families in need with a backpack, filled with all of the grade-appropriate school supplies required (as ouflined by the Boards of Education) to return to school with their heads held high, ready to learn! The Coordination Service -- we provide this service to close to over 200 social service throughout the greater Ottawa area. This coordination service helps to save the community money through the elimination of duplicate services to provide assistance to even more individuals and families in need. Kindness Week- the C&SE manages a city-wide initiative that encourages community members to choose to be kind and recognizes those who engage in everyday acts of Kindness.
