About The Carolyn Barron Montessori School
The Carolyn Barron Montessori School was founded in 1993 to foster a love of learning and to educate children to be caring, socially responsible citizens of their community and world. The educational programs at CBMS involve children from early childhood into adolescence. CBMS seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in a family-oriented environment. The philosophy is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of the child. For Dr. Montessori, and for CBMS, education is preparation for life. MISSION For the children we serve, we are committed to a prepared, stimulating environment nurturing a lifetime love of learning. The Carolyn Barron Montessori School promotes: ~Individualized instruction ~Child-centered learning ~A Broad curriculum ~A peaceful, collaborative, and cooperative learning environment ~Environmental awareness and responsibility Accredited by The Association of Montessori Internationale (AMI) and The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. CBMS is located in historic Newnan, Georgia, an easy 35-mile drive to the cultural and recreational opportunities of Atlanta. The beautiful historic home district lends its warm, family atmosphere to our school which currently serves ~100 children. We are a community of interested, involved parents, an energetic, dedicated staff, and an active board of trustees committed to the Montessori Method. Classrooms are well equipped, spacious, bright, and have porches and gardens.
