The Catalysts Za is bridging the outcomes inequality in South African schools by expanding access to opportunities that enrich learners beyond the curriculum. By focusing on enhancing school cultures and ensuring that learners in all schools are given opportunities to nurture and unleash their potential this objective is achieved. Guided by Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of needs, our school culture improvement models are premised on ensuring that learners have all their 5 hierarchy of needs met in the school environment. Those include - their physiological (primary) needs, safety, love and belonging, esteem and self-actualisation needs. This forms the premise of our organisation's philosophy in which we believe that education outcomes stretch beyond academic metrics and that a holistic approach to outcomes is more beneficial to learners. We aim to help create enriching school experiences for learners while collaborating with schools to improve their organisational culture. Through our mission we envision that we can help many schools become great schools helping schools become exceptional environments where all children can thrive, ultimately reducing the outcome inequality in our education system.
