About The CCTV User Group
We are the national organisation for professional public space surveillance system managers. We are the voice of public space surveillance in the UK. Members gain a range of benefits including exclusive access to template policies, operating manuals, technical guides, codes of practice and more - to help you run your system efficiently and in compliance with standards and regulations. Members also gain access to experienced colleagues who can offer a wealth of assistance in everything from system specification to control room management and regulatory compliance. We also run a regular programme of conferences and informational events for members which gives you exclusive access to leading figures in the industry, giving you a 360-view of the current state of CCTV and what to expect next. We are also advocates for the video surveillance profession, promoting the ethical use of CCTV for the public good. Working with our membership, we liaise with government to represent the views of practitioners on a wide range of topics including data protection, codes of practice, and funding. We also work closely with the police - both local forces and national representative bodies - to develop standards and codes of practice around the use of CCTV for crime prevention, detection and investigation.
