About The Center for Collaborative Heat Monitoring
The Center for Collaborative Heat Monitoring is based at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, North Carolina. The CCHM is a unique national partnership of science museums and technical experts. The CCHM includes four regional hubs: Museum of Science (Boston), the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and the Arizona Science Center. Our technical partners are CAPA Strategies, AQUEHS Corp, the North Carolina State Climate Office and Utah State University. The CCHM supports communities who want to better understand the local impacts of extreme heat and heat exposure through community science heat data collection projects. The CCHM will work with communities to co-create a heat monitoring project that meets their needs, and provide stipends, training, and technical support from our partners.
