About The Center for Whitley County Youth
The Center is a youth development center for middle and high school youth in Whitley County, IN. Through after-school, weekend and summer programming, and in partnership with like-minded youth serving organizations, The Center works to surround area teens with positive and engaging opportunities for learning, creativity, recreation, healthy adult relationships, and spiritual growth. As the recipient of 2006 "Jewel of the Community" , 2008 "Best Program" Award, 2011 Show Us Your Results Challenge winner, and 2012 YFC Excellence in Leadership award, The Center is recognized in our community as one of Whitley County's most valuable assets. With just minimal staffing, and more than 80 caring adult volunteers, The Center is growing healthier youth by increasing assets (www.searchinstitute.org) that lead to increased odds of being healthy, caring, and responsible.
