We provide specialized pediatric medical rehabilitation services and supports to more than 8,000 children with special needs and their families through ~70,000 service sessions/yr in Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Langley and beyond. THE CENTRE FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT is a 'one stop shop' for children with special needs and their families through specialized paediatric psychologists, social work services, key workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, early childhood educators, supported child development consultants & teachers, recreation specialists, technicians, and a Doctor specializing in developmental paediatrics. SOPHIE'S PLACE is a child and youth advocacy centre focused on providing specialized services to physically and/or sexually abused children up to age 15 in a child-friendly setting. Sophie's Place is the result of significant collaboration between the Surrey Police Service, Ministry of Children and Family Development, City of Surrey, Ministry of Justice Victim Services and Crime Prevention, and The Centre for Child Development. Sophie's Place enables the collaborating agencies to respond to child abuse in a compassionate and highly integrated manner. With the support of donors, community partners, and funders, we can work towards serving even more children with special needs, helping them reach their potential!
