About The Cheer Institute

Welcome to The Cheer Institute! A competitive cheerleading and tumbling training facility founded and run by The Ohio State University Cheerleading Alumni Erika Gullick. WE OFFER: Afterschool Child Enrichment "ACE Program" Competitive all-star Cheerleading Tumble Club/Private Tumbling/Stunt Lessons Team/Group Tumbling/Stunting Year- round strength and conditioning Camps Birthday Parties Restorative Day Program Toddler Open Play Time Community Outreach -------------------- Supporting Our Community Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Erika Gullick started cheer at just three years old. Her cheer journey spans every level, from little league to competitive all star, collegiate and professional. After cheering at The Ohio State University for four years as an undergraduate, she joined the coaching staff at North Carolina State as the first non-alumni assistant coach and eventually went on to cheer professionally for the Columbus Destroyers before opening The Cheer Institute in December of 2015. --------------------- Our Competitive Teams Allstar cheerleading and dance differs from traditional school cheer and dance largely because of its focus on competing. Athletes do not cheer at school games, and many teams could have athletes from across many school districts! Our facility trains athletes in the sport of cheer, with athletes participating in intense training on a weekly basis. Unlike school cheer or dance, most Allstar programs typically have a place for everyone, regardless of skill level. The teams are placed into divisions, which are based upon age, size of the team, gender, and ability level. Coaches will typically train their athletes on individual skills and team components for months before choreographing routines that combine those skills together to be judged against other teams in their division Most athletes train anywhere from 10-12 months throughout the year.
