The Chesapeake Group is a team of economic development and consulting experts serving government, non-profits, and for-profits since 1974. The Chesapeake Group has helped in the research, planning, and implementation of an abundance of successful and meaningful projects that contribute to the growth of communities and the businesses associated with them. Our experience includes, but is not limited to, downtown and city planning, housing, marketing, military base reuse, neighborhood revitilization, town centers, waterfronts, transportation, and research and development. Howard Kohn founded The Chesapeake Group in Baltimore County and remains rooted in the state of Maryland while serving the nation. Howard received his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. Howard spent much of his early professional career employed by Baltimore City, where he was instrumental in the development of one of the nation's most successful commercial revitalization programs and public-private partnership efforts. Howard has used his experience in both public and private sectors to efficiently and effectively help build communities from within our home community of Baltimore County, along the East Coast , and all the way across the nation into the western states.
