About The Cleveland Ophthalmological Society

The Cleveland Ophthalmological Society is a non-profit, professional medical society dedicated to the continuing medical education of member ophthalmologists in the Greater Cleveland and surrounding areas. Membership includes, physicians and resident physicians in general and sub-specialty ophthalmology from private practice as well as hospital-affiliated practice settings such as the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, MetroHealth and Summa. Current membership consists of approximately 150 regular members, 40 resident members as well as visiting fellows. In conjunction with our accrediting organization, Case Western Reserve University, The Cleveland Ophthalmological Society presents 4 educational programs per society year to its membership in the months of October, December, February and April. Each program includes several noted ophthalmologists who speak on various medical and surgical topics associated with the practice of ophthalmology. These programs also provide an open forum for discussion of issues critical to the medical field and practice of ophthalmology. The educational content and overall objectives of each program further enhance the knowledge and expertise of the attending physicians in their mission to provide the highest quality medical care and most progressive treatments and medications to the patients in the communities they serve.
