About The Closet Merchant

My name is Diane Salkiewicz, and I have 20 years of experience in the fashion industry in NYC. After getting my Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design, and working for retailers like Banana Republic, Talbots, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Ann Taylor, I kept seeing women confronted by so many options to buy more and yet very little understanding of how what they were buying actually worked in their own wardrobes. That is why I created THE CLOSET MERCHANT, to help women see what is possible with what they already own, creating sustainability within the fashion industry through the consumers themselves. I believe in quality, beauty, and clearing through the clutter to find what really works. I have relocated to Belgium after finding love, and am continuing to provide my services to women here in Belgium and all over the world.
