Since 1965, The Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut (formerly The Community Action Committee of Danbury (CACD)) has delivered a variety of social service programs ranging from early childcare to elderly fuel assistance in order to help low-income families and individuals with their ever-changing needs to reduce poverty and enable clients to achieve self-sufficiency. CAAWC is an integral part of a nation-wide network of Community Action Agencies (CAAs) dedicated to the take of eliminating poverty.
