About The Community Comedy / Comedy Community Foundation

The purpose of this organization is to develop and promote the concept of community comedy—an inclusive, educational, and performance-based model inspired by community theater. We aim to foster humor as a creative outlet and public good by offering workshops, classes, and performance opportunities for amateur comedians of all ages and backgrounds. Through these programs, we seek to enrich civic life by using comedy to engage the public in local issues, political dialogue, fundraising efforts, and community-building activities, thereby improving the overall atmosphere and cohesion of our communities. In addition to supporting comedy as a recreational and civic tool, the organization is committed to advancing the professional side of comedy. We will develop resources, mentorships, and programs that support aspiring comedians in navigating the comedy industry as a viable and sustainable career path. This includes providing guidance in areas such as writing, performing, producing, and monetizing comedic content across platforms. To fulfill our mission, we will produce television and podcast content, host live and virtual events, and create educational materials. A cornerstone of our efforts will be the establishment of the first-ever community comedy festival, a celebration of comedic talent at all levels that bridges hobbyists and professionals, and showcases the power of humor to connect and uplift communities.
