About The Confidence Library

The Confidence Library is a Detroit-rooted, nationally scaling nonprofit dedicated to helping children believe in themselves through the power of literacy and confidence-building. We deliver high-energy read-alouds, social-emotional learning workshops, and family engagement activities that empower students in grades 4–7 to become stronger readers, empathetic peers, and future leaders. Our programs weave together storytelling, affirmations, and creativity so children not only learn to read, but also learn to see themselves as capable and worthy. Between December 2025 and May 2026, The Confidence Library is scheduled to visit more than 300 schools, reaching 20,000 students across Detroit. By late 2026, we will expand nationally and internationally, bringing our work to communities across the U.S., South Africa, and beyond. We know that literacy unlocks economic mobility. That’s why our mission is to bridge the gap between reading skills and self-confidence, ensuring every child has access to resources, role models, and safe spaces where their voices matter. Through partnerships with schools, parents, community organizations, and corporate volunteers, we’re creating a movement that extends far beyond the classroom.
