The Contractor Co-op is an independent umbrella company offering fully compliant payroll services to its contractor and agency clients. We exclusively operate an umbrella model in full accord with the latest Government legislation and employment regulations. Founded in 2017 and based in London, the Contractor Co-op is managed by an experienced team of payroll professionals, inspired by forging long-term relationships with temporary recruitment agencies, end-user clients and their contractors. We specialise in working closely with all entities in the assignment-based supply chain and maintaining a transparent and open dialogue with all parties. We recognise that the umbrella payroll industry is subject to intensive scrutiny and forthcoming legislative change in April 2026, whereby agencies will be under pressure to prove the compliance credentials of their payroll operation. With this in mind, the Contractor Co-op has implemented the systems and processes required to meet the challenges demanded by the new regulations. Weekly reporting, transparent RTI submissions and a constant dialogue throughout the supply chain are integral to our payroll service. Our team embrace the spirit of the forthcoming guidelines and welcome the opportunity of helping our clients stay abreast of their compliance responsibilities via regular updates and consultations.
