About The Converging World

The Converging World is a UK-based charity whose objectives are to tackle climate change whilst supporting the move towards a just and sustainable world. We use a unique business model that makes every investment work 3 times harder than normal to create an ever bigger impact. We use donations to invest in renewable energy projects in developing countries that both reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to sustainable development– ALL the profits from these investments provide long term funding for vital health, education and environmental projects around the world. In 2008, The Converging World used its first donations to set up a windfarm in Tamil Nadu, India. Today, TCW owns and operates 4.2MW of wind farms, generating ~8,000MWh of green power every year. This is the same as powering 4,500 Indian homes while avoiding 7,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. TCW has also planted 125,000 native trees, secured nearly 3 acres of land for eco-restoration and supported education and women empowerment programmes for underprivileged and vulnerable communities through established partners. When it comes to climate change we can’t afford to wait for Governments to take the lead. The Converging World offers a way of redressing some of the economic injustices in the world and to help counter climate change. It is a not-for profit organisation whose only vested interest is in a sustainable planet. It’s the beginning of something huge: a chance to help change the world.
