The Cupcake Lounge is an Ottawa-based retail bakery specializing in cupcakes. We offer all-natural, gourmet cupcakes baked fresh daily, made from the finest ingredients, and iced by hand with spatula not piped; no artificial flavours, lard, preservatives, or transfats. We are also pleased to offer gluten-free, reduced sugar and vegan options. We have two Ottawa-area stores, one in the heart of the Byward Market at 6 Byward Market Square near Byward Market Square and Clarence and the other in Westboro at 324 Richmond Rd. close to Churchill. Our newest location in Westboro offers customers considerable lounge space in a beautiful and relaxed setting. Large, open windows offer an excellent view of what's going on in the village close to the corner of Churchill and Richmond. Convenient and free parking is available in front of the store. There's a barrier-free, wheelchair-accessible washroom complete with a family-friendly changing station. Fine dinner and silverware, free customer wi-fi and jazz music completes the experience! Many people associate cupcakes with the 1950’s and the '60’s and the cupcakes that “Mom used to make” for school bake sales. However, these cupcakes were made mainly for children. Today, cupcakes are decidedly different. They are now definitely more ‘adult’. In fact, cupcakes have become one of the most noticeable trends in the baking industry over the past 20 years, so much so they’ve pervaded popular culture. Cupcakes have certainly become fashionable and trendy, and gourmet and upscale is the focus of The Cupcake Lounge. However, we try to be different. Rather than concentrating on cute names and marketing ideas, we focus on what we think is important and that's quality cupcakes, pure and simple.
