Our educational space for profoundly gifted students lets them flex their intellect, explore their passions, build their senses of self and community, and learn alongside intellectually similar peers. The Davidson Academy is the first free public school of its kind—one for profoundly gifted students. Our classes group students by ability rather than age, allowing us to support students in a way that is collaborative, challenging and supportive. We provide highly gifted young people with an education matched to their abilities in an environment with intellectual peers that supports their unique strengths and intellect. Our vision is to challenge, nurture, educate and inspire our brightest students so they can change the world. In 2006, the Davidson Academy Reno campus opened as the first free public school of its kind for profoundly gifted middle and high school students. This led to the 2016 opening of Davidson Academy Online, a fully accredited online school for students across the U.S. and Canada.
