The Defeating Epilepsy Foundation is a registered 501c3 not for profit organization in San Bernardino County California located in the Inland Empire. We advocate for individuals, families, and caregivers who are battling epilepsy. At The Defeating Epilepsy Foundation, our mission is to provide the advocacy and educational resources to the epilepsy community and our society. We are dedicated to removing the stigma associated with epilepsy and help to create opportunities for individuals battling epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder resulting in someone having seizures. Currently 3.4 million Americans, 65 million worldwide battle epilepsy. Our founder has been battling epilepsy for over forty years now and understands first hand the frustrations that come with battling epilepsy. Discrimination due to lack of education is the biggest concern. We want to educate not just the epilepsy community, but communities and society as well. Through education we want to remove the stigma and create better educational and economic opportunities for individuals battling epilepsy. We want individuals with epilepsy as well as their caregivers to have the courage to advocate for themselves and know how to achieve overall wellness and realize the importance of working towards their overall well-being.
