Founded in 2018 by Lakeside School, The Downtown School offers a high-quality academic education to a diverse body of academically talented students. The Downtown School is affiliated with Lakeside School, a national leader in independent school education. The curriculum of The Downtown School combines some of the best aspects of Lakeside School’s high-quality academic program with special programs and features that are unique to the school. Students of The Downtown School are members of a tight-knit community: At full enrollment, the school will serve 160 students in grades 9-12. Students work closely with a core group of teachers with outstanding experience and credentials, as well as a passion for educating young people. Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year is $18,200 – well below that of most independent schools in the greater Seattle area. Financial aid is available, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $18,000.
