About The Earth Village Community

The Earth Village Community is a welfare organisation providing services and support to people experiencing disadvantage and social exclusion within the City of Melton Victoria, since 2004. We're big on belonging, involving our people and community, growing our impact, and creating 'wow’, across our programming and services. We run with a close-knit team of volunteers, better known as 'Village Vollies', alongside a handful of managerial staff. We operate the only ready-to-eat and take-home food relief service that is open to the public Monday to Friday, in our Local Government Area. We are known for our low-barrier approach to accessing Food Relief that dignifies the recipient experience. We offer quality and affordable secondhand clothing through our iconic Earth Village Opshop. We provide concession, seniors, and student discounts, a loyalty earn-back program and, provide a free area for unsold and lightly damaged items daily. We want to see more items out of landfill and instead loved from wardrobe to wardrobe; our team of Village Vollies take extra care to refurb items and give them their best chance of living an extended life with a new owner. 100% of the profit from sales supports our wider day-to-day operations and is used to increase local impact. We have a diverse range of volunteering opportunities, and occasional employee opportunities across our Melton Central and Cobblebank locations + virtual/remote. Village Vollies serve customers and clients face-to-face, work practically behind the scenes, and support administrative, marketing, communications, design, sales, business and programming teams.
