About The Empty Nest Collective
I am the founder of the Empty Nest Collective, a group for “retired” or soon to be retired mums. Now, I know we don’t ever fully retire but the day is approaching when my nest will be completely empty. Being me, I started doing some research into groups and support networks and to be honest it was all pretty miserable. Lots about how to retain a relationship with your children - most of it was still focused on being a parent. So, based on the unwritten law of “if you can’t find what you’re looking for it’s your job to create it!” I started The Empty Nest Collective Facebook group. This is a group to inspire and support each other. To reconnect with our passions and interests. To continue to educate ourselves. We are GEN X, and we are, potentially, only half way through our lives we could still have another 40+ years to go! And I want to live it still growing, still having adventures and still looking forward! The group is to share lots of inspiring ideas, activities, hobbies etc. I’ve got some challenges lined up around mindset, future planning and rediscovering our MOJO (motivation & joy). My commitment is to help and support everyone of you through this transition, in making those decisions as to how your exciting future is going to unfold. Mary x
