Thirty years ago, The Environmental Center was born to inspire locals to live lighter on the planet and to preserve the spectacular landscape of Central Oregon. Our work began with a handful of people and a building in the center of Bend. Today, we are a regional hub of environmental education, engagement, and action. With support from our communities, we’re a growing team at the heart of important initiatives that are defining and shaping this place we call home. The Environmental Center advances a healthy, vibrant place to live, work and play – for all of us today and for future generations to inherit. Our team works alongside people of all ages, local businesses, and elected officials to create and advocate for meaningful, lasting change that everyone can be proud of. Through innovative programs and leadership development, we’re invested in engaging as many people as possible in our mission.
