About The Fascia Institute and Treatment Center
Once thought to be “just a padding” in the body, fascia is now known to connect all of your body’s muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, skin, and organs, such as your heart and lungs. Fascial tears or adhesions can cause severe pain and disability that is difficult to evaluate. A “kink” in one area of fascia can throw off your entire body mechanics. At the Fascia Institute and Treatment (FIT) Center, we use ultrasound imaging to assess areas of pain or dysfunction in real-time. Ultrasound can examine fascia in a way that X-ray or MRI cannot. The FIT was created to provide specialized care to patients with fascial dysfunction. It is open to all patients, including athletes and patients with hypermobility. FIT offers unique fascial treatments including hydrorelease, hydrodissection, regenerative treatments (prolotherapy, PRP, etc), and methods of manual fascial release.
